What gets lost without a written record
You are the only one who can decide
Delegating note-taking assumes someone free to take them. On an SME's executive committee, everyone has a part in the discussion.
Two-person meetings leave nothing
A point with a partner, a review with a manager, a client call: often the most decisive, and never minuted.
Follow-up rests on memory
An action without a written owner is not an action, it is an intention. Three weeks later nobody recalls who was to do what.
You write it up in the evening
Twenty minutes per meeting, taken from time you should spend elsewhere, and only when you remember to.
What actually happens
You start the recording by putting the phone on the table, you say the session is being recorded, and you run your meeting as usual. You do not touch it again.
At the end you get the timestamped transcript and a structured note: a one-sentence summary, the decisions, the actions with their owner, the open points and the figures quoted.
Three habits that are enough
Start before you begin, not when the subject gets interesting. Audio is written to the phone throughout the capture: a network drop loses nothing, and a three-hour meeting holds without difficulty.
Keep the same template. From one meeting to the next, minutes in the same format compare and file. You can always generate a second note with another template on the same recording, without recording again and without spending your minutes twice.
Read the note, not the transcript. It runs to a page and reads in two minutes. The transcript is there for the day a disagreement turns on the exact wording.
What it costs, and what it returns
The free tier opens 45 minutes a month: enough for two committee meetings, and enough to judge on your own meetings rather than on a demonstration. Beyond that, 1,300 minutes a month, about twenty-one hours of conversation transcribed, for the price of a business lunch.
Circulating the minutes
The note exports to PDF to send to attendees, to Word if you want to add two lines before passing it on, and to Markdown if your team works in Notion or a wiki. Exporting happens from the note’s share menu, without going near a computer.
